GDPR Privacy Policy

The processing of your personal data is carried out by The Irish Shows Association CLG (ISA). The Irish Shows Association is a not-for-profit organisation established with the following aims:

  • To promote and assist in the development of Agricultural Shows
  • To act as a negotiating instrument between members and outside bodies
  • To liaise with Government Departments and Agencies in matters affecting members and show exhibitors
  • To organise and oversee annual All Ireland Championships in various categories
  • To publish an annual shows Guidebook and Judges Lists
  • To provide a group insurance scheme for members
  • To provide a national secretariat and head office for receiving and processing material relevant to members and their interests

We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining the security of your personal data. This policy outlines how and why we collect and use personal data. We want to ensure you are informed and in control of your data.

 

What personal data do we hold?

  • Name
  • Postal address
  • Event address
  • Office address
  • Contact telephone numbers
  • Herd numbers, flock numbers, equine premises numbers, compliance certificates or equivalent as needed to comply with regulatory requirements
  • Photos and videos of competition entries
  • Contact emails
  • Company name (trade exhibitors, shows & sponsors)
  • Financial information as required to process payments
  • Employment records and payroll information for our own employees; including, but not exclusive to; contracts, taxation-relevant documentation, pension documents


 

How will we use this personal data?

We use this data to communicate with you about Show matters, regulatory information, government funding, meetings, seminars.
Show contact details are published on our website and in the annual guidebook.

Photos, videos and documents supplied to accompany entries in virtual shows and competitions may be published on our website and social media channels or on third-party hosting sites, e.g. Vimeo.

Judges contact details, either supplied directly by the judges to the ISA or as supplied by the various breed societies are published on our guidebook, in print format only.

Employee data will be used to communicate on matters pertaining to employment and taxation.
Supplier data will be used to communicate on contract renewals and terms of agreements, as well as delivery of goods and services.
 

How did we collect this personal data?

You provided it to us when you:

  • Became an officer of your member show
  • Became a judge in any of the sections
  • Agreed to sponsor a competition
  • Provided land or equipment to a member show, requiring insurance indemnity
  • Entered an exhibit in one of the national championships
  • Entered an exhibit in an ISA competition, either physical or virtual
  • Took part in or won a prize in a national competition
  • Were involved in or witness to a reported incident at a member show
  • Made a general enquiry about shows
  • Requested a copy of the ISA guidebook
  • Were engaged as a supplier by the ISA
  • Became an employee of the ISA
  • Became a board member or director of the ISA
     

With whom will we share this data?

We will NOT sell, distribute or lease your personal data to third parties.
Contact information may be shared with any such government agencies or engaged suppliers as required to administer funding, supply goods and services or comply with regulations.

Details will be shared with our insurance provider as required in the provision and administration of our insurance policy, including the settlement of claims.

Exhibitor’s personal data will have addresses and phone numbers redacted in the publication of championship results either online or in print.
Board members and employees abide by the Irish Shows Association data protection policies and your data will be treated confidentially in as far as is practicable in the management and administration of the company.

 

Your Right to Withdraw Consent

We will only use your personal data with your permission. You may withdraw that consent at any time. Our Data Protection Officer is our National Secretary. If you no longer wish to be contacted by the ISA please contact our Data Protection Officer by email at:

Sensitive Personal Data

In exceptional circumstances, sensitive personal health data may be collected as part of any accident reporting at a member show. This information may be shared with our insurance company and legal representatives, in line with our legal and insurance obligations. If sensitive personal information is collected, we will take extra care to ensure privacy rights are protected. Such data would only be retained for as long as the law required.

 

Notification of Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Irish Shows Association reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Notice of any change will be posted on this website and will be deemed effective upon publication.
