  • Male Calf must be under 250Kg,  Female Calf must be under 200Kg, 
  • Scales will be provided on show day, Weight will be strictly adhered to
  • No restriction on number of calves exhibited by individual owners.
  • Ist, 2nd & 3rd Prize winning Calves in this competition will not be allowed compete in other classes the Show

1  The championship is open to Pedigree Beef Bull Calves, Born on or after the 31st August 2017.

2  No restriction on number of animals exhibited by any individual owner.

3  Entries in this championship may compete in other classes at Dunmanway  Show.

4  All Animals must enter ring without rosettes.

5 Judging will be by the Score Card System.

6 These Rules should be read in conjunction with the General I.S.A. Rules and Dunmanway Show Rules.

The Derek Rothwell Young Stockperson of the Year Championship 2018 - Tinahely

The Derek Rothwell Memorial Young Stockperson of the Year Championship

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1.   The competition is open to boys and girls who have not attained their 15th birthday by show day.  Proof of age will be requested.

2.   Animals can be of any breed (pedigree or non pedigree beef or diary) and must be leading.

3.   Animals must be under 12 months of age on the day of final.

4.   Animals do not have to be the property of the entrant however a brief interview on knowledge of the animal will be conducted on show day.

5.   An adult may aid an exhibitor if deemed necessary.

6.   Calf identity cards to be available for inspection on show day. 

7.   Entries to be made direct to the Secretary of Tinahely show on or before 14th July.  The prescribed entry form to be counter signed by a parent or guardian.

8. These rules should be read in conjunction with the general ISA rules.

It is the responsibilty of Exhibitors to fill in the correct documentation and forward relevant fees to enable them enter this competition.

The competition will be judged as follows:

1. The ability to handle and present the animal to its best advantage in the Show Ring. 40 marks.

2. General knowledge about the animal itself, inlcuding its feeding, breeding etc. 30 marks.

3. Personal presentation of stock person. 20 marks.

4. Presentation of the animal. 10 marks.

PRIZES: 1st €500, Sash and the Rothwell Family Trophy.

Young Stockperson of the Year 2018 - Swinford

THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION  & SWINFORD SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT 

The Swinford Young Stockperson of the Year

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. The competition is open to boys and girls who have reached the age of 12 years on 1st August 2018 and who have not reached the age of 17 years by that date. Evidence of date of birth may be requested.
2. Entries to be made direct to the Secretary of SWINFORD SHOW on the prescribed entry form. Entry form should be completed in full, solely by the entrant and should be lodged with the Secretary of Swinford Show on or before Wednesday 15th August 2018 with a fee of €10.
3. Animals must be under 12 months of age on the day of final.
4. Animals do not have to be the property of the entrant. Entrants are advised to choose an animal with the best potential to demonstrate their skills of grooming and showing.
5. Animals must accompanied by cattle identity card / passport and be presented to the judge on show morning unwashed and ungroomed for initial inspection whereupon each participant will be briefed regarding correct procedure to follow.
6. The use of mechanised washers is not allowed for animals competing in this class.
7. Entry forms should be counter signed by a parent or guardian or a local show offi-cer.

9. These rules should be read in conjunction with the general ISA rules for 2018 and Swinford Show Society rules.

The competition will be judged as follows:

 1.  Presentation of entry form. Personal presentation of stockperson, including appropriate dress code and behaviour during preparation and showing of  the animal: 100 marks

2.  The ability to wash, clean, dry and present the animal for Judging: 150 marks

3.  Stock judging—the ability to judge and place a group of animals and  articulate reason for placing: 150 marks

4.  General Knowledge about the animal husbandry and the livestock industry: 100 marks

5. The ability to handle the animal and present it to its best advantage in the  Show ring: 150 marks

 PRIZES:  1st   €300 and the Andrew Madden Perpetual Cup; 2nd € 200; 3rd €150; 4th €125; 5th €100 6th—15th €50

Class C: 1 st €1,000, 2nd €500, 3rd €250, 4th €150. 5th €100 Qualifiers Prize fund: €150.00 for each qualified animal exhibited in finals at Iverk show.

Rules & Conditions: (To be published in all show schedules)
Breeder/Exhibitor must be a member of the Irish Angus Cattle Society Animal must be registered in the herd book of the Irish Angus Cattle Society as per current Society rules.
Late registered animals (over 60 days from birth) will be debarred from classes.
Competition confined to exhibitor bred bulls only.
Two Bulls from each section may qualify at one of the designated qualifying shows, if in the Judges opinion they are of the required standard.
Breeder may only qualify two animals from each section for the final.
All Bulls, will be weighed by an ICBF Inspector at Qualifying Shows & Final Birth weight 45kgs + 1.70 kgs per day
Entry fee for qualifying shows is €20.00 payable to the relevant show society.
Entry fee for final is €15.00 payable to Iverk Show Society Prize money for the qualified animals will be paid on presentation at the final.
Judges decision at qualifying shows and the final in Iverk, will be final.

Classes: A, B, C. A: Irish Angus bull calf born from August 1st 2017 to October 31st 2017
B: Irish Angus Bull Calf born from November 1st 2017 to January 31st 2018
C:Irish Angus Bull Calf born from February 1st 2018 to April 30th 2018
